Rajana Association - Cambodian Art & Crafts
Association is an income generation and skill training project that was started in 1995 by the British International NGO South-East Asian Outreach.
is now a Local NGO that provides employment for many young Cambodians, rural and urban poor and other small producer groups.
has four Fair Trade shop outlets in Cambodia that market its products.
gives young Cambodian people the opportunity to be trained in the production and marketing of traditional and contemporary crafts,
so that they can provide an income for themselves and their families.
The golden age of Cambodia was in the 10th-14th century Angkor period, when many magnificent temples were built in the northern jungles. artisans use their rich heritage in product design and development, and patterns into contemporary saleable products.
Although famous for her violent past. Cambodia is now moving on as stability and peace are established. Cambodian artisans are now able to resurrect talents that have been long neglected. Though its artisans and art work, Cambodia has many beautiful things to offer the world and is pleased to see Cambodia taking her place once again in the visual arts of South East Asia.
